Roots for the future

Arbolia is a benefit corporation created by Snam and Fondazione CDP with the aim of developing new green areas in Italy. Through afforestation and reforestation projects, it contributes to the fight against climate change, the improvement of air quality, and the creation of social and economic value for cities and local communities, promoting a sustainable and shared development model.

Naming and brand design. Nature as a distinctive mark.

The name Arbolia stems from the world of trees and conveys, through its very sound, a deeply ecological vocation capable of uniting nature and national identity. The logo, designed using the Ubuntu font—open, contemporary, and tailored for digital dialogue—expresses accessibility and sharing. At the heart of the visual system is a symbol that evokes both water and roots which, when combined, forms the silhouette of Italy: the country is represented through the profile of poplars, the Italian trees par excellence, creating a sort of texture that is widely used across the brand’s visual language. This graphic matrix extends to icons and both physical and digital communication elements, creating a coherent and recognizable language. The color palette—composed of green, black, and brown—strengthens the bond with the earth and the values of environmental care and respect.

Visualizing Arbolia’s commitment

The brand language features a broad and consistent application across physical and digital media. The symbol and logotype are applied to paper and other materials, appearing on images, institutional color backgrounds, or with chromatic variations from the brand palette. Patterns and textures are derived from the Arbolia symbol, strengthening visual recognition. The icons for rain, sun, food, and work—the latter represented by the bread and shovel symbols—are designed based on the logo’s graphic matrix, creating a unified iconographic system. In web design, photographic images are placed within the same silhouette in a macro version, merging narrative content with identity.
